Darren Dial became the team's Most Valuable Player by qualifying in four events in the state meet. Darren is the first athlete to accomplish this since 1969. All four relay teams and fifteen indi- viduals qualified for the state meet. Pole Vaulter Tony Gonzalez captured the honor of third in the state. Wayne Spevak took eighth in the state in the triple jump. Provi- so had many letter winners returning last year including: Dave Brown, Darren Dial, Tony Farruggio, Tony Gonsalez, Bob Ha- ley, Eyder Rubio, Chuck Watts, Tracy Rob- inson.

With Karla Vandevender's long jump scores, she qualified for state and broke a school record. Sophomore Pete Reid set the varsity team record in the hurdles. Robyn Davis qualified for the state meet in the high jump. The team set many trosh-soph records in sprint and distance re- lays. The team was victorious in the Saxon Sophomore Invitational, and the Addison Sophomore Invitational.
