Key Club began at Proviso 25 years ago. Key in Key Club stands for Kiwanis Educated Youth. Key Club is associated with the Kiwanis Club of Westchester and belongs to the Illinois and Eastern Iowa District. Proviso's Key Club has grown in membership from as few as 20 members to the current membership of 55 members. Mr. Richard Clish has been the spon- sor for the past 13 years. Proviso's Key Club has had 3 lieutenant governors in its history. Tom Scrivner is presently the District Office Treasurer. This years main service project was during Key Club week, November 6-12. Paper- back books, daily necessities, and homebaked cookies were collected school wide for the Ma- rines in Beirut. Key Club went to the Shriner's Hospital again this year at Christmas time. A wheelchair basketball game was sponsored by Key Club. This year was the fifth annual Almost Anything Goes contest and the 10th annual faculty Easter egg hunt. Convention was held in Peoria, illinois, this year, and again Proviso was a convention leader. Mr. Clish adds, Even though Key Club is a service organization it is still fun for those involved.
