Foreign Language Brings World Closer Together Today's world is growing smaller and smaller each day due to advances in communication, medicine, and businessg so, it is very important and helpful to be aware of the entire world's peoples in order to communicate. In these times of world confusion and disagreement, the world must be able to communicate to resolve situations. The Foreign Language Department at Proviso West gives students the opportunity to bring their world closer through communications and an understanding of foreign culutres. Offer- ing four years of German, Spanish, and French classes, the Provi- so student is able to be more acquainted with different cultures in America, as well as foreign cultures in Europe and Mexico. By bringing the world closer through an understanding of foreign languages, it is likely that the future American will be able to communicate with people of other nations in hopes for a more peaceful and secure world. Concentration is the key to quality work as demonstrated by this consciencous p Students Learn Needed Skills In Industrial Education Printing, technical drawing, carpentry, ar- chitecture, and auto repair are just a few examples of the many jobs P.W. students are prepared for in the Industrial Education Department. The importance of vocational training has increased tremendously with the growing need of skilled labor in our society. With this in mind, Proviso West has put more emphasis on the skills being taught and the success of the students. The industrial Education Department offers students the chance to learn a trade and open up their future. Having fun while you work is always important.
