The Varsity swim team had fou wins and one loss during theii mid season. The varsity teair was small in numbers but big or quality. The team suffered be- cause of not being able to fill al events. Although the swimmers did win most of their events, they lack the depth to take many sec- ond and third place finishes. The Varsity swimmers took fourth place at the Shepard reIays Each win over any conference team is a big accomplishment for the team. Senior John Rurkd was the best all around swimg mer. John can place in any event in a dual meet. Tom Scrivner i the best sprinter on the varsit team. Art Faje is the best hopefu for the state meet. Proviso's Sophomore swimmers had 2 conference and 3 losses during their mid season. The teams many lost points because the team did not have divers. The sophomores did well in all of their meets. Paul Fturka was the teams most outstai swimmerg Paul won most of his dual events and hi the varsity in special meets. Lett. Freshmen Swim Team: Ken Mohan, Roger Hash, Mike McMicken, Ben Urbans, Ken Lindstrom, Mark Borkowicz, Chris Denning, Coach Howard Current, Not Pictured Chris Morgan. The Freshmen Swim team did well this season de having a very small team. The six members worked hard and performed well in their events. ln their win times of the year.
