An extensive Iihrarv ol' 20,000 boolis needs a great deal of maintenance. In Proviso VVest's lihrarv rooms the hooks are checked and shelved by sixtvelive industrious people. These lihrarv pages not onlv shelve hooks hut also straighten the rooins, eolleet slips and eheelc honor roll Cards. Even with the three full time librarians the demands of the extensive collection could not he fultvilled without the pages volunteering. The lihrarv pages devote study Periods to aid the staff in Illillly ways. This year, with the south lihrarv roorn open and new Puhlieations continually being inade availahle, the pages had a greater numher of hooks to organize and shelve. Red Derloies Turn Key To Locked Finances To serve their school and communitv was the goal ol the Proviso Wlest Kev Cluh. Fortv-five selected rnemhers of the three upper classes, guided hv hir. Tom Dehlaven, met everv xveela heliore school in the Little Theatre to plan their projects. A tall and spring ear wash provided one source ol' income lor the organization. Key cluhhers sold peanuts and pancakes for their sponsor, the VVest- chester Kiwanis Cluh, and they ushered Vvcstlalce hlemf orial Hospital patients to chapel for three consecutive Sundays in the liall. 'iDerhv Davi' highlighted the win- terls activities. Proceeds from the sale ol red and white derhies went to the needv children ol the Dixon Mental Institution. Other projects included providing a Santa Claus lor the Christmas assemhly, waiting on tahles at hanquets, running coat checks ol' any school organization, and sponsoring a dress rightn campaign. A Hlurivcris Rodeou was held in the spring, and a trophv was awarded to VVest's students who excelled in certain sltills.
