As principal of Proviso Vvest, Mr. Stubbs sees Proviso as the face of academic excellence. Principal and asf sistant superintendent since 1958, he has continued to advance the school in its academic activities and com- petitions. lVlr. Stubbs has shown his skill in teaching, organization, and adniinistration. Since his coming to Proviso Township in l925 as a history teacher, he has been a senior boys' counselor, has headed Eastis his- tory department, and directed the first evening school in the township. Now, as principal of Proviso Wlest, he enjoys watching the faces of young people engrossed in activities contributing to their growth and maturity. lle believes the good sportsmanship and citizenship ol' Vvestis students is an active part of development. llis concern is that students accept the responsibility for their future rights and privileges.
