A ' 1' .X Sponsor Mr. Fred Widicus s ioiolniuinniuivles The sophomores, often known as the forgotten classf' began the year with a certain security after the threat of water fountain dunkings and elevator passes had disf appeared. Ready for anything, the largest class at Proviso Vvest, plunged into the familiar intricacies of grammar and the less accustomed difficulties of obtuse angles, and biology dissections. The rigors of a varied social life appeared with the advent of dances, colce hours and parties. The highlight of these events, of course, was the Sophomore Class Dance held in May. The opportunity to take Driver Training was eagerly sought to make less doubtful the acquisition of the all-important driver's license which marks the sophomore's formal induction into a new maturity. Standing: Treasurer Jane Taft, Vice-President Bill Guinta. Sitting: Presi- dent Carol Cadek, Secretary Jean Earnest. 7 ff'
