West Gymnasts Are Second n District, Eighth in State The Proviso VVcst gymnastic team started the season with excellent potential. They had lost only four men out of the thirteen-man squad which had placed fifth in the State mect of 1963. Mike Iacki proved to be the spearhead of the team throughout the season. Mike worked five of the six events for the majority of the season and finished the year performing in every event. His ease of movement, difficulty of routines, and finesse in execution were a wonder to audiences throughout the schedule. Mike was unable to perform in the Evanston Invitational because of injury but brought home enough of the gold in the other three tournaments to cover anv wall. Mike was Des Plaines Valley all-around and still ring champion. He took second in high bar and parallel bars and a third in side horse. In the District meet he cleaned up a first in all-around, rings, and parallel bars, a second in high bar, and thirds in side horse and tum- bling. In December Proviso West was one of the five teams invited to Evanston High School for their annual meet. Bringing back medals were: Jerry Bulmann on trampoline, Iohn Fish on still rings, and Keith Trapp on the side -horse. Outstanding during the entire sea- son were: Ierry Bulmann, who hit one of his best tram- poline routines to become District trampoline championg hfiilan Cybradovich, a consistant high bar performer. who took third in the Des Plaines Valley meetg Dominic Bonovolante, who used an extremely difficult routine throughout the season but had difficulty being consist- entg and hlike Litwin who improved more than any other gymnast and has a promising season coming. In all the gymnastic season was highly successfulg the gym- nasts placing higher than any other team in the school in district and state competition by taking a second and eighth respectively.
