Mixed Chorus Provides New Vocal Opportunities Introduced for the first time this year was 21 new choral group, the Mixed Chorus. It consisted ol? approximate- ly sixty memhers: hoys with previous experience in Freshmen Boys' Chorus, and girls who participated in Cirls, Chorus or Advanced Cirls Chorus. hlemhers received advanced training in vocal methods hv being introduced to mixed choir music. The group performed at the Christmas and Spring Choral Festivals held in the Proviso East Auditorium. An opportunity for more students to have choir experience has heen opened bv the Mixed Chorus, which also serves us ri prerequisite to membership in the Choir.

Row Three: Sharon Duffy, Candy Nesbitt, Nancy Montville, Monna Antonsen., A colorful spectacle was presented each time the Proviso West Majorettes performed at school and community affairs. Last fall, they displayed their skills at the an- nual Bataan Day Parade held in Maywood. During the football season they marched proudly and with lively precision to the music of West's band. Occasional per- formances by the majorettes during the half-time at basketball games further showed their abilities. Their versatility was shown in their costumes as well as their performances. From the western outfits worn at Home- coming to the blue sailor costumes of the last basketball game, the majorettes always appeared and performed at their best. In addition to studying privately, the girls met every day during third hour to perfect their skills. Maiorettes leave field with precision in sharp marching time. Basketball fans enjoy colorful performance by costumed majorettes.
