Enthusiasm Boostecl By Squacl's Spirited Yells Enthusiastic yells were heard from Proviso Vtlesrs Racket Squad memhers at all loothall and haslccthall games this year. Ar each game, members could he seen sitting in the specially designated portion ot the hleachers. Their cheers and cries of encouragemcnt have more than once hoosted the morale ol' the players and led them on to victory. liaclxct Sctuadis goal is to inject pep into the student hody. Mrs. Beatty, the organizations sponsor, along with thc hoard, have lirer quent meetings to arrange lor transportation and sell tickets to away games. Memhers go to Mrs. Beatty to receive their permission slips. A slip, returned with the signature of the parent, entitles the student to ride the school has to that yvecles game. This organivaf tion makes it possihle lor our school to he well repref sented at all away games. At the end of the year a medal is given to thc mcmher who has devoted the most time and energy towards fulfilling Racket Squadls goal. Girls support their own teams with enthusiasm. Laura Caligueri, Pat Cordes, Judy Trittipo, Judy Roznon. GAA Receive Pep Awards For Loyalty Active girls were given more opportunities to acquire and develop skills as members of the Girls' Athletic Asociation. Tennis, volley ball, swimming, bowling, and gymnastics were a few of the activities in which mem- bers participated. The year's program started off with a Fun and Fizzi' get-acquainted party. In October stu- dents anxiously awaited the associations taffy apple sale. A Christmas party provided entertainment and fun for all GAA members. Girls received local and state awards for their participation in activities.
