Challenging Chessmen Check Competition Looking for an intellectual sport, Provisois students found West's Chess Club provided exactly the entertain- ment which interested them. Although a small club, its activities were frequent and its members well-versed in the knowledge of pawns and checlonates. Vvorlqing to improve strategic skills, Vtlesrs chess men contended with other schools to gain a wider range of competi- tion ability and to extend the pleasure of the games. Biology, chemistry, and other areas of study helped to strengthen the memberis knowledge of the un- known. Under the sponsorship of Mr. Thomas Lignell, members plan to utilize the benefits of science in future college and business hours. Outside of the usual class- room routine, the members relaxed with the satisfaction of being familiar with a technical and specific hobby.
