By issuing new memhership cards to interested students, the cluh grew to one-hundred ten memhers who hoped to learn what nursing oliliercd. On Noyemher 10 another liield trip was scheduled. liy hecoming acquainted with surgical equipment, the meme hers heneliited from the visit to St. Anneys School ol Nursing. From these trips the girls hecame familiar with numerous schools and hospitals in which they would he training in lor the next three years. Medical terms, hospital scholarships, and patients' personalities were discussed hy lecturers to prepare the memhers lor their careers. Sponsored hy M iss Myrtel Gould and Miss Dolores Garramoni, VVest's nurses, the cluh had two prof lessional women to answer the technical questions ol' nursing. As a chartered memher ol' the National Future Nurses Club since February 21, 1961, the organization extended more service activities and trips to memhers. ln the heginning of the year the new girls were shown HGir1s in Wlhiteu to explain the demands of nursing. Throughout the year the members gained greater under- standing ahout entrance requirements and courses in nursing schools, The Chicago area hospitals were toured and enthusiasm heightened as the memhcrs worlsed with school nurses to strengthen career understanding. 17olf lowing high school graduation these memhers will no longer read ahout or tour around hospital grounds hut instead he an active part ol' a hospital and patients lile.
