STUDENTS ASSISTANTS work together as a team to create an atmosphere for work and study. Each assistant works together with secretaries and other assistants to help the students who use the library to conquer any problem which may arise. The library is for the use of any student who wishes to use it. It has many reference materials, any kind of book one can think of, popular magazines, and paperbacks for everyone's interests and desires. At Christmas a party was held for all the student assistants and librarians. On May 9th a Spring Banquet was held at the Branding Iron Restaurant in Downers Grove. After having had a funfilled year, the library also had more students coming in regularly than last year. The library provides an opportunity for students to research projects assigned to them in class. such as the Quill and Scroll are just one of the many honors that the Proviso East PAGEANT has won. Over the sixty years in progress, the PAGEANT has become more efficient in bringing the faithful newspaper to all students. Our newspaper consists of about seventeen students who work hard to put their best ability down to spread the news of the activities and announcements in the school session. The Pageant also gives the opportunity to other students to show their talent in poetry, in sports, and in everyday opinion, how they feel about facts happening in life. Thanks to Mr. James Nyka, English teacher, the staff members and Proviso East students are able to show their abilities.
