Many students utter these very words in reference to a small keystone and torch. the emblem of the National Honor Society of Secondary Schools. lnduction into this organization and the privi- lege of wearing this emblem represent the most cherished goals of a student in Proviso. Seniors who attain membership must stand in the upper thirty per cent of their class. prospective NHS juniors must be in the upper hfteen per cent. The faculty then vote on these qualifying candidates. Activities of National Honor Society include the maintenance of the newly furnished NHS library. the preparation of a college week exhibit, and the presentation of induction services to freshmen and new students. Culminating the year two outstanding members receive the NHS scholarship awards at the April banquet.
