Each class was assigned a hall to decorate. Everyone began to work enthu- siastically with the theme of Homecom- ing in mind. The Sophomore's and Sen- ior's hall were something to look at, but the Juniors took the winning title. With signs such as Homecoming is deep in our hearts and Tony the Tiger says Rams are G-R-E-A-T, the Juniors showed true Ram spirit. 22 Christmas at Provine The degree of interest and the choice of method may vary with class or individual, but Christ- mas is celebrated by all Rams. Languages vary , themes range from traditional to modern but all hope for Peace on Earth. Competition among homerooms in door decoration adds interest as well as prize money to win- ners. Under the leadership of Mr. Gordon the students became familiar with the use of cameras and television equipment. The students devel- oped a knowledge and apprecia- tion of this form of media. Cyn- die Adams is shown tuning a tel- evision. Carol Mosley and Greg Gross are filming Kathy Pinkston under the direction of Jimbo Elmerick and Mr. Gordon. Gen. Arts 3 V Library Mrs. Eaton. What would Provine students and staff members do without her? If it is a book one needs, a stencil run, instructions on the use of the library or any of the materials or equip- ment, or just a T.V. adjustment for pleasure viewing, the service is rendered with a smile, interest and enthusiasm. irisfii ll Cafeteria Familiar places - familiar faces - Mrs. Ingram is a familiar face who greets those entering the cafeteria on the east side. Whether it's food only or food and conversation, teachers and students alike find the cafeteria the meeting place. Honors Several deserving students at Provine have been recognized for their outstanding achievements. Provine entered three senior girls in the Jackson Junior Miss Pag- eant. The Daughters of the American Revolution award was presented to an outgoing senior girl. Long Live Democracy! This was the title of the Sophomore skit. King Frederick ruled the countryside with a firm hand. Soon he died and the peasants rejoiced for the Prince believed in democracy. The only problem left to solve was convincing the royalty to associate with the peasants. This was accomplished and everyone decided love was the most important thing in life . 36 ,,. 1 Junior Class Capers The Junior Class showed their spirit with their production The Melting Pot. The story told about America being the melting pot, with so many nationali- ties. As the play progressed little clowns were decorating for America's 200th birthday. But Uncle Sam tried to stop the celebration. Soon Miss Liberty came with her helpers and convinced Sam to have the celebration. 37 Senior Class Capers The Senior class presented That's the Spirit! An author was writing a book about the bicentennial but was stumped as how to write it. He fell asleep still unde- cided and dreamed of the Spirit of 76. She showed him scenes of 1776 and he chose the ones he wanted to put in his book. The play was delightfully funny, but contained a note of seriousness when Uncle Sam was speaking and the Statue of Liberty was singing. In conclusion, the cast decided America was No. 1 and broke into a chorus of You're a Grand Ole Flag! ILL VVIN? SENI S SPIRIT OF 976 , FH?
