THE COMRADE I5 Hminnala EUGENIE M. KERN. Eugenie seems to have captured all the honors within reach, while she has been in the P. E. H. S. She has the unusual distinction of being the first young lady to be elected president of the graduating class in this school, she has been a member of the Social Committee since its formation, a member of the Editorial Board, secretary of the Board, sec-- retary of the Debating Society, a member of the debating team to de- bate on graduating night, and a member of all the Elocution Class productions which have been pre- sented during the last two years. So we can see that Eugenie has oh- tained an enviable record while in the school. Nor has it been confined to this school, for she won the An- thony Medal from the Branch Ave- nue School, and was the winner of a handsome diamond ring in a recent contest for the church, which she attends. It is a known fact that whatever she wants she usually gets, for her desire is always backed up with earnest and effective work. .If she continues at the rate she has been going since she has made her appearance among us, she will be one of the shining lights in history. And last, if not least, she is a char- ter member of the most select fra- ternity in the school, the C. H. R. G. Genie expects to be a teacher and will take the examinations in June. She is considered one of the most popular members of the school and we hope that the good record which she has accomplished here may con- tinue during life. MARY E. CROWLEY. The Bookkeeping Course is well represented in the graduating class by Miss Crowley. This is her fourth year in the school, but it will not be her last, as she hopes to return next fall. May's aim is to be a business woman. Her success in the com- mercial course looks as though her ambitions would be fulfilled, if she continues to do her good work. She is one of the quietest girls in the school, and has taken an active in- terest in the Elocution classes while in the school. She will have a prominent part in this year's sketch which is 'fthe event of graduation night. Z3 ROSE COYLE. Miss Coyle is the third youngest of the famous Coyle family. She is following in their footsteps and gives promise of equaling their rec- ords. Rose is graduating from the Standard Course, but intends to re- turn to school next year. VW: are all glad to hear this as we had great fears for the future of the P. E. H. S., in looking over the list of shining lights who are to leave, never to re- turn, after the 4th of April. Rose is much interested in the social affairs of the school, as she has been on the Social Committee for two years, she is secretary of the C. H. R. G., a member of the Debating Society, and secretary of the graduating class. ROY WILLISTON. Mr. XVilliston is the second one of the class who intends to become an evening school teacher. It isn't necessary to mention the other per- son, is it, Roy? Roy is a student from the Bookkeeping Class and will receive a diploma from that de- partment. He is one of the most popular members of the graduating

16 THE COMRADE class, as his election to the office of Vice-President shows. MARGARET CARY. Qne is somewhat surprised at the fact of a pupil completing a three- year course in two years, but such facts raise the standard of the pres-- ent class and we are delighted to print them. Margaret is one of the studious pupils from the Bookkeep- ing Department, and will make good use of her acquired knowledge. Al- though she is undecided as to her future career, it is about certain she will return next year. HELEN KELLY. Helen, or Madeline, as she is more frequently called, is a Commercial Bookkeeping graduate, completing the four-year course. She is another one who intends to enter college, not Tufts or Technology, but a local business college, where she plans to study stenography, with the desire of capturing the speed title. Wie feel sure she can do it. More glory for the 1912 class. BENJAMIN SALK. The number of graduates whose ambitions it is to enter college, is one of the best arguments for the efficiency of the school. Mr. Salk has been preparing in the school for the last three years, to enter Tufts Dental College. He is to graduate from the Standard Course and in- tends to take up his studies in the fall at Tufts. Although Mr. Salk is seven years the junior of the old- est member of the class, he is the only one who has had the courage to raise a moustache. GUY R. SMITH. Mr. Smith is a splendid example of what perseverance will do and what great advantages the P. E. H. S. has to offer. He has been a stu- dent of the school for eight years and during this time has specially fitted himself for college. His in- tentions are to enter Tufts Dental College in the fall. I-We all know that he will bring great honor to the class of 1912. JAMES WATSON. James is the spokesman for the class and some of the meetings of the graduates have sounded like Htete-tete between him and 'Ma- dam Chairf' As he is the seco11d member of the Executive Commit- tee of the class we excuse him for holding the Hoor so long at times. He is the tallest Hman in the 1912 crowd and is the leader of the mem- bers of the Mechanical Drawing Class. He is completing his fourth year in the school and intends to re-- turn for a fifth. MARY MCQUIGGAN. Here is another prospective school teacher. The P. E. H. S. will be put on record in the school depart- ment for the number of evening school teachers it sends out. Miss McQuiggan is a graduate from the Standard Course and has been at- tending the school two years. RICHARD DEVLIN. Here is another member of the class whom we feel will make us all sit up some day and say, 'KI told you so. He is very quiet and unobtru- sive and we hear fine reports from his teachers concerning his good work done in class. This gives us the assurance that what he has done here he will continue to do and will no doubt add much to the brilliancy of the class of 1912 in the not far dis- tant future. RAYMOND BOYS. Raymond is the youngest member of the class and has just reached the fine old age of fifteen summers. Now isnit that a record? However, CContinued on Page 33.1
