We emerge now as Providence College graduates, who hap- pen to be women - still in that perpetual process of question- ing, maturing, discovering the people we are. These first pages are about the women, because they represent as a whole, a new era at the College. But this yearbook is not a feminist chronicle. It is a bal- anced, integrated approach to four years of ALL our lives and were spent participating in a higher education. With this education, hopefully, a similar balanced integrated approach to life has matured our private visions. l flu-:R

We look back now with an admittedly hazy memory. At the time, we were not concerned with what we would remember and write of four years later, we were fully occupied with living that experience. We had to cope, not only with the typical, expected Freshman traumas, Cas well as DWCD, but also with the fact that we were among the first women to be educated by Providence College, in an environment that was in a state of perpetual flux during those early semesters. Fresh from high school surroundings, we were still struggling with per- sonal identity crises. We barely realized who we were as individuals, yet we were daily confronted with the fact that we were PC women or that mys- terious PC Co-ed. Thrust into a role we were unprepared for, we made the best of what we could, and somehow, survived it all, It was funny and seri- ous. It was awkward and challenging. It was a choice we had consciously, deliberately made, and only a very few of us ever really regretted it.
