rag. ,INKS Kill! This was just one of the duties of-sponsoring the Knightimes dance. ABILITY AND SKILL The handsome, strong, mature, young men, proudly dressed in blue sweaters every Friday of the school year, were members of Prospect's Varsity Club. All Prospect athletes awarded with varsity letters were eligible to join the club and to par- ticipate in its many services to the school. Service was the main objective of the Varsity Club, and it was, in fact, or- ganized for this purpose. Club members served as ushers at pep assemblies and often took part in miscellaneous service projects. The most noteworthy of these was the club's spon- sorship of the Knightimes dance, which was a memorable climax to a wonderful homecoming weekend. One of the club's most unusual and enjoyable special projects took place on December IO when the lettermen graciously consented to act as escorts for a formal dance at a girl's academy. This most unselfish action only served to illustrate the true nature of Prospect's athletes. The sponsors of the club were Mr. Sey- mour and Mr. Gaines, men whose leadership often proved to be invaluable to Varsity Club members. iz. VARSITY CLUB. MERITED SWEATERS We're from Prospect. Couldn't be prouder . . . I These words resounded throughout the tield house as the cheerleaders led Knights at a pep assembly. Under the leadership of Miss Nancy Dallia, this year's cheerleaders cheered Prospect to victory after victory. The varsity squad, under captain Diane Mayes, supported Prospect at all varsity football and basketball games. The iunior-varsity squad, under captain Charli Kreusch, led Knights at all junior-varsity football and basketball games. They also cheered at the freshman and sophomore games. Both CHEERLEADERS. As in previous years, the cheer- leaders sold mums for Knightimes. Money that was obtained from these sales will be used in future years to'buy new uniforms. For the first time ' year each Prospect cheer- leader- wore numerals of her ga. .ting class and a chevron for each year as a cheerleader. The cheerleaders added im- measurably to spirit and sportsmanship at all athletic events. Cheerleaders were given a front row at the Knightimes assembly. Come on Knights. We want some action!
