Efforts of the members of the Business Education Club enabled the club to experience a full and exciting year. Under the leadership of President Toni Spacone, the club tourecl Uni- versal Oil Company, Esso Oil Company, and Liberty Mutual Insurance Company-trips offering first-hand knowledge of opportunities in modern business. The club sponsored several guest speakers and participated in testing programs tor awards in commercial fields. Mrs, Bright, Mrs. Hutchins, Mrs. Rhubach, and the club members installed a point system en- couraging leadership, planned a course in parliamentary pro- cedure, and sold programs at football games. ---vw l 1 Business Education Club members op- erated the school store. Prospect's Social Science Club was sponsored by Mr. Bullock and Mr. Schmidt. Through lecture, discussion, and argumenta- tion, its members learned more about the social sciences and increased their interest in this Held. They strove to pro- mote better citizenship among all members ofthe student body. The most notable activitiy of the Social Science Club and one which included the entire student body was the staging ot a mock presidential election shortly before the actual national election in November I964. Due to the ehicient counting by members of the club, the election returns were posted the tol- lowing morning. SOCIAL SCIENCE CLUB. ' 'TT' a rvl. rl The Future Homemakers of America, under the direction of Mrs. Breiding and Mrs. Lorenz, were led by student officers, President Sharon Jaacks, Vice-president Diane Marchetta, and Secretary Marilyn Marchetta. Early in the year club members sponsored a tea and installation dinner for twenty-tive new members. They took an active part in the Penny Flame scholar- ship Contest, selecting a girl to represent the Prospect chapter. The motto, Toward New Horizons, inspired the girls to pro- mote citizenship. SNOW SKIS : SPLINTS The goal of the Medical Careers Club was to co-ordinate many areas of the medical profession and to stimulate interest in this career field. Accordingly, President Sandy Vasy, Vice- president Nancy' Bischoff, and Secretary-treasurer Eloise Hasz, as well as the other club members, planned demonstra- tions and listened to lectures designed to instruct high school students in various fields of medicine. The club also sponsored field trips to nearby hospitals. The school nurse, Mrs. Allen and club sponsor, Miss Fowler offered assistance when needed. MEDlCAL CAREERS CLUB. FRONT ROW: Sandy Vasy, Nancy Bischoff, Eloise Hasz, Suzanne DeMoch, Barbara Smith, Miss Fowler. ROW TWO: Joanne Woodcock, Shirley Borg, Mel- anie Edwards, Kathy King, Paula Patton, Judy Lynn Miltzow, Mary Wendt. SKI CLUB. ROW THREE: Jayne Wangerin, Jeanne Pol- lard, Vickie Heurlin, Mary Ewing, Peggy Albertson, Kath-ie Metzger, Sue Short, Kim Koenig, Linda Smith, Diane Mikula, Howard Daw- son. ROW FOUR: Al Diet- sche, Vaughn Pedersen, Mike Hoynes, Bill Butler, Diane Airey, Nancy Sulli- van, Terry Pressel, Larry Moats, John Metzger. The Ski Club, under the direction of ,Mr. Clark, enioyed the prestige of a first place award in the Knightimes float-building contest. Their prize-winning skier represented the enthusiastic members of a large and active club. President John Metzger, Vice-president Howard Dawson, Secretary Kathy Borgardt, and Treasurer Vicki Heurlin encouraged plans for ski trips to various slopes in the area. The club also sponsored excursions to Boyne Mountain and Indian Head. The activity agenda was expanded to include a visit to a ski fair
