HOBBIES O Ji. Mr. Crane supervised the technicalities ot photography. This past year Prospect's Radio Club again gave members the opportunity to maintain ham radio licenses. During club meet- ings they had a chance to communicate with radio stations of other schools and communities. The cIub's own station was operated from the Industrial Arts classrooms. Co-sponsors of the club, Mr. Baker and Mr. Wanner, possess licenses and often helped students operate ham radio sets. F SIGHT, SCUND Students investigated the techniques of developing and enlarging their pictures. Mr. Etherton and Mr, Crane were the program directors for this year's Camera Club. Meeting every second Tuesday of the month, the fifteen regular members learned the secrets of the dark room through actual experience of developing the film, making the prints, and enlarging the pictures. The major aim of camera enthusiasts was to improve focusing for clearer, brighter, and more interesting photographs. ..---'ff RADIO CLUB. These informal talks were related to individual model railroad layouts and the special school model. President Tom Cramer, Vice-president Richard Henderson, Secretary Paul Zander, and Treasurer Dean Stanley recommended books and showed Elms on the methods of improving cars and track layouts. Although the club attracted a small membership, the boys planned interest- ing meetings and learned much about the railroads of today. . f V 1' :ef1 MODEL RAILROAD CLUB. Attending classes and working with computers at the Illinois Institute of Technology were important activities of the Com- puter Club. This newly-organized club, under the sponsorship of Mr. Chapman, learned the complicated process of computer programing, the translation of a problem into the language of the computer. President Blake Baker conducted weekly meetings at which members practiced program writing and became pro- ficient at key punching. Trips included a visit to the l.B.M. AND THE NATURAL SCIENCES Senior members guided freshman proiects. To provide additional educational opportunities for those stu- dents interested in biology and to promote further interest in natural sicences were the goals of the Biology Club this year. Keeping these goals in mind, the club's olticers, President Phil Fritchey, Vice-president Allen Krueger, Secretary Linda Clark, and Treasurer Paula Mast, planned many interesting and in- formative programs. Under the supervision of Mr. Clark, members took field trips to the Indiana Dunes State Park and to several pharmaceutical laboratories. The club also viewed a film on the Natural History Museum. Rick Lynch entertained students with a talk on Humboldt State College in Arcata, California, where he had majored in marine biology for six weeks.
