Staff members learned by example. The l964 Presidential campaign provided the Crest with campaign ideas. RECORDED YEARS EVEN l S Sometimes it seemed as though the typing would never end. All the time, hard work, and frustrations in the making of an outstanding yearbook are repaid when excited students receive a completed record of another year of education. The principal responsibility for the production of this year's book was vested in four students: Editor-in-Chief Cheryl Busse, Copy Editor Sue Knechtel, Photo Editor Kathi Hagan, and Class Editor Gay Teborek. Under the leadership of these competent individuals, the other sixteen staff members wrote copy, heads, and cap- tions, designed artistic layouts, and alphabetized, organ- ized, and filed pictures and identifications. The chief objective of this year's staff was to create a new and somewhat unique yearbook. A time to enioy all different aspects of the 1964- l965 school year was the subtle theme on which the book was planned. Mrs. Lipman, sponsor, and Mrs. Sanderson proofread finished pages before publication, contacted photog- raphers, and offered advice and encouragement when it was most needed. Working together, the Crest staff produced a picture book of memories from the '64-'65 year. Campaign gimmicks spread to the cafeteria.

Aided by Feature Editor Louise Wemette, Editorial Editor Carol Sesterhenn, Photography Editor Debbie Hansen, Sports Editor Chuck Hoffman, Exchange Editor Claudia Grafton, and the co-editors, a staff of thirty-two energetic students gathered information and wrote articles about all curricular and extracurricular activities. Staff members also wrote editorials, took pictures, planned lay-outs, and proofread the newspaper before its bi-weekly publica- tion. Under the guidance of Advisor Mrs. Kurtz, the staff published a newspaper which achieved the goals of focusing Discussion of rivals' papers inspired new ideas. public attention on worthy achievement, of creating interest in the educational, forensic, athletic, and social activities of the school, of fostering leadership, initiative, co-operation, and business responsibility, and of creating and developing loyalty, school spirit, and school patriotism. In addition, The Prospector offered experience in practical journalism and an appreciation for local and current affairs. The appearance of Prospect's newspaper was altered this year with a newly designed name plate and masthead drawn by junior, Dan Krembs, under the supervision of Mr. Keith Weiss. Busy staff members took time out for a picture.
