CHIVALRY REIGNED SUPREME Members of Prospect's dance band performed at Camelot. On February 27, Knights in shining armor escorted their fair maidens to this year's Tri-M dance, Camelot The medieval castle with its atmosphere of enchanted mystery was access- ible only by a drawbridge. The Montclairs provided music for the royal aFlair. The evening climaxed with a floor show in which the Mellotones presented a selection of songs from Camelot, including 'lt Ever l Would Leave You and Theme from Camelot. Changing the mood To a jazz beat, the dance band played several numbers arranged by John Higgens. Adrienne Kulieke and Becky Clausen delighted the audience with their duet, The Simple Joys of Maidenhood, and .lim Grady and Pam Budris gave a preview of songs from So This Is Paris. The floor show ended with a reading from Camelot by Margaret Starr. Colored lights tlickered and dimmed as couples left the world of medieval romance and chivalry. If only for an evening, the cafeteria was filled with the aroma of gardenias instead of pizza. Rustic candle holders lent an aura of romance to the refreshments table A knight and his lady stepped across the drawbridge into Came- Freshman couples sat and watched the senior couples dance across the cafeteria lot. floor.

A cast of thousands assembled on stage for the final curtain. PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME Con-can dancers were on hand to provide atmosphere. Juniors Jim Grady and Pam Budris, captured this year's leading roles. Five long, practice-filled weeks of preparation for the musical, So This Is Paris, culminated with performances on March 25, 26, and 27. A new innovation this year was the use of Mr. Black- ley's Jazz Lab Band for stage music performances. The ar- rangements presented in the evening program took many hours of daily class practice and after-school rehearsals to achieve perfection. The music department's production, under the guidance of Mr. Mische, featured Pam Budris as Carol and .lim Grady as Paul in the romantic leads. Carol's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scott, played by Joel Mattson and Becky Clausen, forbade their daughter to marry a handsome Frenchman. Six American girls in Paris planned a block party to raise money for Eve, crippled French girl, played by Adrienne Kulielce. The romantic plot climaxed with overwhelming success when Paul and Carol resolved a quarrel at the block party. Two Frenchmen argued with typical Gallic enthusiasm.
