XII KNIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS In the tradition ofthe twelve days of Christmas, the Sophomore Class staged Twelfth Night, a stunning climax to twelve days ot excitement, preparation, and expectation. Queen Karla Baehr reigned over the I964 Christmas Ball amid festive dec- orations ot hoola hoops, love seats, and paper figurines. The Queen and her attendants Sandy Joern and Sally Wolfe danced the coronation waltz with sophomore escorts Rodney Jean, Roger Anderson, and Ernie Rogers. Couples enjoyed the music of the Melody-Aires while dancing beneath a chandelier of mistletoe. To depict the retrain of a popular Yuletide song and the dance theme, sophomores had decorated a pear tree with paper partridges. As December I8, i964 approached the magical hour of midnight, couples lett Prospect's trans- formed cafeteria with a Christmastime air of anxious excite- ment and good cheer. SWORDPLAY! Flashing swordsmanship highlighted Captain Appleiackf' Jim Grady claimed complete innocence to his intensive grilling. Pirate Bob McAndrew challenged his captive, Coreen Cordova. Playgoers in every period of history and in every country have enioyed the antics of the involuntary hero. Ambrose Appleiohn of Captain Appleiack was just such a hero. Jim Smith played the meek and mild fellow suddenly confronted by Anna Valeska an aggressive Russian dancer and a thief, played by Coreen Cordova. Mrs. Pengard and her husband Horace, Sandy Joern and Jim Grady, wereequally unsuccessful in obtaining the hidden treasure map from the stately home of the Appleiohns. Adrienne Kulieke as Poppy Faire and Margaret Starr as Mrs. Whatcombe tried to convince Appleiohn to remain at home in Cornwall instead of searching for love in far countries. The adventure, Appleiohn's dream of his exciting ancestry, and his final discovery of romance at home produced a rollick- ing Arabian Night's tale on November i3 and I4, Mr. Pos- ton's first production in the Prospect Theater. The play's excellent cast hammed it up during the final curtain.

IN AN ALPINE ATMCDSPHERE Couples danced to all of the lastest beats. Miss Hallett presented the year's most outstanding Rhythmettes. On January I6, 1965, the Rhythmettes provided the oppor- tunity for Prospect students to enjoy the atmosphere of one of today's most popular sporting locations. As sponsors of the turnabout dance, they converted Prospect's cafeteria into an authentic ski lodge, appropriately named Fireside lnn. Girls and their favorite fellows danced to the swinging music of the Rhythm Kings and relaxed in ski lodge style before a huge fireplace. a bear skin rug, ski club insignias, recent ski reports and photographs, toboggans, and ski equipment helped to complete the scene. Over two hundred and fifty couples en- ioyed doughnuts and cokes, refreshments served at candle lit tables. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Rhythmette of the Year award. Senior Captains Diane Novotny and Jackey Shervey were both voted by fellow corps members to receive this honor.
