OUR QUEEN REIGNED 1 ,-pf' Smiling faces disguised nervous anticipation as the Knightimes court awaited the announcement of the queen. The Mellotones sang their own version of Charade with a Knightimes theme. l Tension is broken with the announcement of the new Knightimes Queen The most traditional assembly at Prospect is Knightimes, and 1964 was no exception. The entire student body gathered on October 9 to witness the coronation assembly in the field house. Four trumpeters began the ceremony with a regal fan- fare. Bob McAndrew retold the Knight's essence of chivalry as the five candidates proceeded through the dark auditorium. When the candidates and their escorts had assembled on the stage, an apprehensive silence settled over the student body. Everyone remained silent in anticipation of the T964 queen. The five candidates and the student body waited, and with the last note of the fanfare, Prospect knew that Bunny Thomas had been chosen. Bunny received the traditional red roses, crown, and robe with tear-filled eyes. The finishing touch to the ceremony was a kiss from her escort, Bill Phillips. The audience gave their approval through cheers and applause as the queen proceeded to her float. The regal student council float was the setting for the Knightimes court.

Crisp autumn weather and an air of excited expectation-these were the ingredients that combined on the morning of October lO to set the stage for Knightimes 1964. The first big event of the day was the parade which was led by the Rhythmettes and the Prospect's fine marching band. Following them came the floats, the products of a week's labor on the part of the classes and various clubs. Each float confidently predicted a Knight vic- tory in the football game. The float judged best in the class division was the iunior's Knights Grate! The best in the club division was the Ski Club's Our Skill Will Kill. Later in the day, the Knights took the field against a tough Glenbrook North team. The weather was perfect for a football game, and the stands were iammed with spectators anxious for victory. Prospect struck quickly with a touchdown early in the game. Our Knights scored a second touchdown to win I2-O. Thus, the success of Homecoming T964 was assured. A lone Knight was pursued and taken down. i tti1t51.ge'imtf it 1fi,,i'r'iwilli 3Q Qg will tfggiswii i - ,ee .
