28 SHOOTING STAR This year's prom featuring Short Change was successfully put on by the juniors. The new king and queen, Scott Anderson and Rose Massey, were crowned by Chris Cook and Zellie Horvath. The juniors, with the aid of Bonnie Blanchard. did a spectacular job with their theme Shooting Star. There was a great turnout, and everyone had a good time.

Bartlett ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE The Assembly Committee was able to host three assemblies although money was lacking. The first was singer and guitar player Dick McCormack. At Christmas time the P.H.S. music department put on an entertaining program for the student body. In the spring the Committee invited magician Phil Moore to astound everyone with a variety of magic tricks. Funds hopefully will be increased by next year for future assemblies. M. Hurvath. D. David Caceres. and Ted Perkins. The library aides las shown in the photograph to the leftl h Jeanne Curtis. Rose Massey. Lisa Young, and Laurie Mecier - all put in a lot of their free time to help Mrs. Sherman keep the library in order. 27

aurv-tttI-im ' '7? WINTER CARNIVAL The winter carnival was a big success this year. The sophomores and the eighth grade were in close competi- tion throughout the day. but the sophomores were stronger and became the overall winners. The eighth grade, therefore. took second place while the seniors came through with third. There was a great performance at the talent show because of the outstand- ing number of participants and Kevin Thompson standing in as MC. Kathi Clark and Tricia Matusiak with their superb harmony took first place while lane Iones won second and Dan Gilliam and his dancers received third.
