Hickey, J. Iiartlett, C. Duty, 1-5, Short- sleeves, B. Clarino The 1985-86 varsity basketball season was perhaps the most productive in the annals of Precmr High School. Establishing a fantastic 19-1 record, .1116 Phantoms won the Marble Valley League Championship, the Southern Vermom M Champion- ship. and the Vermont State Class M Champienship. Proctor. under the able coach- ing of Tom Lawson. boasted a balanced scoring attack with Bob Greene. Don Gallus. John Puljacik. and Ed Penzkowski averaging ten points or better. However, even more astonishing was the fact that Proctor only allovumd 48. 60 points per game. , .the best defensive record in the league. Callus Under the able leadership of Coach Abrahamson Proctor High's junior varsitybastlball team chalked up thirteen victories while suffering only four defeats. Perhaps the highlight of their season was a win against Chester High School in double overtime. Twice the Little Phantmns had to come from behind to amid defeat. Freshmen Clayton 13on and Hal Shortsleeves made excellent debuts for Proctor High School. H33 was- high score:- for the team during the season and Clayt was a near seco Abrahamson used every member of the team extensively, and it looks like Proctor may not have to worry about basketball for a few years.
