CLASS MOTTO: Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. CLASS FLOWER: Lily of the Valley CLASS COLORS: White and Maroon HISTORY September 1961 saw our class ente: P.H.S. as little freshmen. Our first weeks iound :15 deep In initiation and election of class officers. To lead us thtough the year we elected the following: Robert Curtis. President; Michael Smytski. Vice-President; Carla Ojala, Treasurer; and Rebecca Northrop. Secre- tary. Mr. Monmaney directed our first Junior One-Act play which was Great Smokies. We came in with tap honors of third place, but we enjoyed doing the play anyway. Our sophomore year was about the quietest year of all. Our president that year was Robert Curtis once again; Constance Curtis, Vice-Presidmt; Joan Haley. Secretary; and Carla Ojala. Treasurer. For the Junior One-Act play we did Life of the Party. directed by Mr. Monmaney, and we came in third place again. In the spring. we put on a record hop entitled Palisades Park. Our junior year started out with thoughts of how busy we were going to be. Under the capable leadership of our sponsor. the late Elliot Stevens, and our officers: Constance Curtis, President; Joan Haley. Vice-Presideut; John Bruce. Treasurer: and Carla Ojala. Secretary. the year was busy and successful. Our first thoughts were turned to the work we were going to put into the Sadie Haw- kins dance. The gym was decorated with scarecrows, cornstalks. and a still. In March we did the play. In the Shadows. which was directed by Mrs. Burke. To our surprise we won the Junior One-Acts. We took the play to Otter Valley for the District One-Acts. but we lost there. Next came spring and our field trip to the Legislature in Montpelier. Finally - our biggest treat of the year was the Junior Prom. After many weeks of work with the help of Mr. Abbott and Juliana Cecchinelli, we presented our prom with the theme of Bon Voy- age. Under the shadows of our own Eiffel Tower. couples danced to the smooth music of Barry Haynes and his quartet. With the school year's end. our minds turned to our final big year as seniors! On Wednesday, September 4-, 1963, we began our final year at P. H.S. As our class officers. we elected the foilowing: Harry Lose. President: John Bruce. Vice-President; Lorraine McCullough. Secretary: and Donna. Gollstmm. Treas- urer. We also welcomed back Mr. Monmaney as our sponsor. Mr. Abbott directed our senior play. The Death and Life of Larry Benson, which we pre- sented in the Proctor Town Hall on December 14. 1963.

OLAQQPPOPHEOK Gary Baccei - Gary has his own jeep-trucking firm. He delivers anything any- where at anytime. John Bruce - Jack has gone into a business all his own and people are just axing to see him. Marleene Burns - Marla has opened her own restaurant specializing in Hungarian foods. Juliana Cecchinelh' - We all knew Julie would become a famous artist. but his first masterpiece surprised us - he called it The Beatles. Terry Champine - Terry has been seen In Rutland ringing Sliver Bells 1!: front of Woolworth's around Christmas time. Constence Curtis - Connie is the new emmercial teacher at P. H. S. She is developing a shorter shorthand. Joyce Curtis - Joyce was recently fired from her job due to reasons beyond her control. The gum she was so inconspicuonsiy chewing fell into the typewriter and gummed up the keys - would you believe it? Robert Curtis - Curt is a senator from Vermont and has just introduced a bill returning prohibition. ' Loren Durkee - Durk was just picked up for driving forty miles an hour on a throughway. His cat just wouldn't go any faster. Mary Jean Erickson - Mary Jean is the manager of a chain store specializing in elevated shoes and stilts. Donna Gollsuom - Donna is the first woman Secretary of the Navy and Is run- ning the department very efficiently. Joan Haley - Joan gave up singing and is now a drummer with The Beatles rousing the world. David Harrington - Dave has his own dairy farm. He figured it would be cheaper that way. John Hurhula - We understand that John is in stiff competition with Loren. Two buckets of bolts and Hi Ho Silver Awayi William Kallio - Bill is still venturing to the Manor but hires a taxi for trans- portation. William Ladabouche - Lid has just won the 1914 Indianapoiis 500 in his Ford- powered Lotis. He didn't wear a helmet but rather one of his Lid creations.
