Yes. we learned our poem and numbers for the almighty Seniors. but we didn't have a tussle with them at the Fresh- man Reception. In fact. instead of being a night to remember it was a night we vaguely remember. Under the direction of Mrs. Mahoney and Mr. Gould. we won second prize in the Junior One -Act Play contest when we presented Ii Girls Asked Boys for Dates. Our four trusty officers were B. Landon, President: 3. Smyrsl-ti. Vice President: K. Sheehy, Treasurer: and P. Frappier. Secretary. We gained a fellow student. James Mills. On September 6, 1961, the Sophomore class--minus four members--J. Anderson. A. Hamilton, w. Champine. 3nd I. Stevensonngathered in full force on the steps of P.H.S. ready to begin another year and ready to welcome the incoming Ftosh class. In the class election four officers were elected. They were I. Ratti. President; J. Kapitan. Vice President: I. Grochot. Secretary; and L. Sanderson, Treasurer. This year, we moved up a couple of notches and took first prize in the Junior One- Acts. The play was Mind Over Mumps which was directed by Mrs. Geno and Miss Durelle. A: June rolled around. we were more than happy to say good-bye to school end all it entails. We also carried one happy thought with us a: we lefc ONLY TWO MORE YEAPS TO 601 The Junior year was fairly prosperous. We took pleasure in welcoming Maria Page and Bette Porter to our clasa. The class officers were J. Ratti, President; J. Kapitan. Vice President; 5. Smytski, Secretary; and L. Sanderson. Treasurer, For activities we put on two dances: the Sadie Hawkins and the Junior Prom. Blue Hawaii. We won first prize in the Junior One-Acts with Gray Bread directed by Miss Burke. ' At last the big year arrived. Even on the first day. our thoughts were of graduation. Although. lost in a whirl of yearbook. classes. after graduation plans. and activities. we were never too busy to count the remaining day: of school. The production of the Senior play, Girls in White went off successfully directed by Mrs. M. Burke. Now, we are finished with all of this and our eyes tum to our life to come. These four years have helped to determine what that life will be like and we are thankful for them. -r LOUISE ANN BAUER Louise Hear. see, and be silent. Steele The Redfield Proctor Chapter of the National Honor Society will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year. Thus we mark a milestone in the recognition of the pursuit of excellence in the traits for which the Society stands: Scholarship, Character, Leader- ship, and Service. It is an enduring truth that superior capability unalloyed by leadership expressed through character and service may be likened to St. Paul's sounding brews and tink- ling cymbal. The Proctor Chapter of the National Honor Society Ls to be highly commended for its continued adherence to the high standards of admission. especially In the areas of character. leadership and service. Proctor may be justifiably proud of its students who meet and maintain these high standards for membership. The younger students 1'11 school would do well to strive for their election to this select group. For those in Lhe class of 1963 who have attained Lhis high honor. I offer my con- gratulationse and also urge them to continue to live up to the trust implicit in this recognition. Proctor High is especially proud of its National Honor Scholars and ex- pects intelligent leadership from each as he goes forth in life. Robert F. Balding Principal Praetorian Stag? - General Stay?
