Sheila Fay was elected vice president of the Student Council and Robert Parker along with Roy Peterson were our class representatives. We again took the task of selling candy and soda at the basketball games. The One Act Play Contest that year, was a succes; The juniors took hrst pnze. the freshmen second prize, and the sophomores received the third prize. In the district one act plays which were held at Rutland, Proctor was placed third. A whist party was held in May and along with the other activities It was a Financial success. Our basketball team entered the C tournament after a successful pla '- off against Bristol. We played Wallingford in the Hrst game and won. T e next game we won against Milmn oing into the finals. We lost a close game to North Bennington thus earning the second place in the C tourney. From thriljunior class Robert Parker and Roy Peterson played on the varsity basket- ba team. SeveraI girls From our class, jean Valach. Leah Kapitan, Sheila Fay. Rita johnson, Marilyn Duprey, Mary Buggiani, and Georgia Anderson. made the gitIs' varsity basketball team which was a success. Virginia Loso and M-arilyn Philhps were on the varsity cheerleading squad The Rutland Chamber of Commerce sponsored an essay contest on uWhy Rutland Needs a junior Colle e. Two of our class won prizes Marilyn Duprey won second prize of hftlv dollars and jane Aronson won the third prize of twentyehve dollars Mary Buggiani was elected to represent Proctor at Girls' State and both Roy Peterson and Robert Parker were elected to represent Proctor at Boys' State. Virginia Lose and Henry Loyzelle were chosen as marshalls at graduation We decided to have our junior From on Class Day in honor of the seniors and we planned a class picnic which was held at Lake St. Catherine the last day of school. Thus ended on: activities of a happy and prosPerous junior year at P. H. S. SENIOR YEAR September 6. 1949! just another .openirlg day of school to the rest of the classes. but to the senior class of Proctor ngh School it was the beginning of our Final year in high school. We were reeted by three new additions to the faculty. Mrs. Ploof replaced Miss S anney in the home ecoriomics department, Miss Guidotti replaced MiSS Erway in the music.department, and Mr. Silvester became our new principal in place of Mr. Parry. Our class r011 was diminished to twentfr'six students. David Boni left our ranks to return to the Phihppmes. whie Gunhild Myhrberg moved to Rutland. At an early class meeting we elected our class officers. Theyr were president. Mary Bugglani; vice president, Virginia Lose; secretary, Paul Brown; and treasurer. Louise Marfuggi. Miss Haekett was again to be our sponsor. Our first activity as soPhomores was decoratin for the Freshmen recep- tion. The weeks rolled 0n and soon It was tune For the annual Sophomore Hop. The deeomtrons 1n astels of pink, green and yellow were outstanding. Socially, it was a tremen mas success. Financially, 1t rates little comment! Regardless of the scarcity of boys in our class, we were well represented in athletics. Robert Parker played all sports. George Anderson took part in basketball and baseball; Royr Peterson and Axel Anderson. tnotball and basketball; Ralph Santoro, basketball We were also able to boast of two members. Rita johnson and Sheila Fay, on the girlsh varsity basketball squad. Six sophomores. Louise Marfuggi. Georgia Anderson, Sheila Fay. Mary Buggiani, Rita johnson and Marilyn Du rey took a trip to Burlington in May to attend the Music Festival, another 0 the big events of the spring. T00 soon june had rolled around and the dmrs of P. H. 5. closed on our neverm'be'forgotten sophomore year. jUNIOR YEAR As our third ear of high School started we Found Eve new teachers. Mr. Williams replace Mr. Vassar m the History department. Miss Towne re- Flaeed Miss MeGillieuddy in junior hi 1: school. Mr. O'Hara took over shop rom Mr. Holbrook. Miss Gay was t e new mathematics teacher, and Mr. Brokaw came to manage the Physical Education department in place of Mr. Desrosiers. On return In hi school we Found our class reduced to twenty-four students when Donal Catrigan moved to Pittsfmd and Roland Champine left school. In our first class meeting of September. 1948, we elected M155 Hackett as our sponsor once a ain and chose the folluwing oHicers: Mary Buggiani, president; George An erson, vice president; Sheila Fay, secretary: and Louise Matfuggi, treasurer. Robert Parker was elected to represent our class in the Athletic Asso- ciation and Marilyn Duprey was elected to represent us on the Assembly Program Committee.

Our class has always been athleticallv minded and four of our class par ttcipated m football. They were: Robert Parker. Roy Peterson, Henry Loyzelle. and George Anderson Robert Parker was elected Honorary Cap- tain of the team. Early in the vear twenty-four eager seniors made plans for our money making activnies of our final year. Ear: one with one goal in mind. our class trip to New York. The Senior Play was presented on December Erst and second. Every Family Has One was chosen as our lay and happily it was a great success. The play helped considerably to enrich our class treasury. Rita johnson was elected D. A. R. Girl. Basketball is always eagerly awaited by the entire student body and we were net disappointed in this year's team. Robert Parker. Roy Peterson. and R31 h Santoro represented the senior class. As usual. we sold candy and soda at a I the home games. We not only made money for our class, but also helped the Athletic Association. The Senior Ball took place on April Fifteenth. This Formal dance is a highlight of each year at Proctor High School. Ours was no exception. Musicaily minded girls and boys participated in the glee club and or- chestra. Well, our high school career has drawn to a close, four veaISe-happily spent.
