Mr. Call and Miss Erlandson taught in the junior high. Without much diihculty we chase the following class officers Robert Frappierrpremdent, John Ladaboucheevice president, Katherine Horvathe secretary, and Dolly Gianola-treasurer. We were very happy to have Miss Rowe as our advisor. The arty given to the Freshmen each year was both anticipated and feared. e seniors, who had lived four years for this great day, took eat pleasure in scaring the life out of us. Strange to say, we all lived throng it. Though we came of? with third prim 1n the one act'play contest, we were very glad that we participated. Our play was Thank You, Doctor. Members of the cast were janet Stevens, Katherine Hurvath, Tom Geno. Louis King, and Robert Richardson. SOPHOMORE YEAR In '46 we entered our sophnmore year. We no Inngcr were the youngest class, but could watch the Freshmen and lung: at their mistakes We gladly helped out with the decorations for the Fres an Reception. We welcome Mr. Party, out new principal, who replaced Mr. Walsh. MISS Wingett had replaced M135 Voglet in the music department; Mr. Hirtle took over in the manual training room. Miss McGillicuddy taught biology, and Mr. Vassar took Mtst Walsh's place in history. Stanley Nilsson, a former classmate, from Watertown, Massachusetts, rejoined our class. However, we had lost Edward Bowman, Roland Carlton, and jeanine LaVictorie. Our one-act play, Two Crooks and a Lady, received second tize and Katherine Horvath, Tom Geno, and Shirley Pulsi her did very wel in the leading roles. The rattling of a ton of coal andp a turkey helIJed our treasury. Our Sophomore Hop was a great success socially; financial 1y we went in the hole.

Members of the football 5 uad this year from our class were Bob Richardson. jack Ladabouche, an? Larry LaFrance. We rated third in the league. The basketball team did much better and we boasted one member on the varsity. jack Ladabouche. We won the Marble Valley League but we were sorry to lose to West Rutland in a very close game at Barre. We were also successful in baseball, winninlg our section of the Marble Valley, but afterwards losing to M. S. j in the p ayoff. Bart Reissig was on the First team and jack Ladabouche also played. JUNIOR YEAR Upon returning to school in e fall of 1947, we Were greeted by three new teachetst Miss Shanne replaced Miss Hall in the home economics de- partment, Mr. Holbrook too Mr. Hirtle's lace in the shop classes and Miss Kemp. Miss Edgett's place in girls' physicareducation. For our class ofhcers this year we elected Thomas Geno as presicient. Robert FrapEier as vice president. Katherine Horvath as secretary, and Theodore Par er as treasurer. Five juniors played football: 31H Visi. Colin Fay. Larry LaFrance. jack Ladahonche, and Bob Richardson. The following juniors were out for basketball: jack Ladahouche, Bob Richardson, Larry LaFrance. and Alex Verge. Ted Parker was the manager. The team had a very good season taking the Marble Valley Lea e Championship and being only narrowly defeated by West Rutland in E e Southern Vermont Tourney. We defeated Waterbury in the consolation game, however. Our hrst venture for money this year was a Military Whist Party the class gave in October. This was a good start toward a successful financial year. The hunior class held two big dances of different types during the year, each of w ich was a big success The First was the Leap Year Dance held in February. The girls asked the boys. All Were dressed in old clothes and danced both rounds and squares to Burns Martin's Orchestra. Our formal dance this year was the junior Prom. Larry Coutermarsh furnished the music Another big Financial gain was the Prize Plays. We took First prize with The Ghost of a Show in Proctor, and second prize in the district contest in Middlebury. Barton Reissig and Robert Richardson Were chosen delegates to Boys' State and Katherine Horvath, delegate for Girls' State. The marshalls for graduation this year were Estelle Anderson and Alex Varga. It was near the end of our junior year that Miss Rowe, who had been our adviser for three years, and Miss Wingett. the music teacher left P. H. S. and Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Geno took their places respectively. Thus another happy year in high school drew to a close, and we looked toward an even better senior year.
