VARSITY BASEBALL Following a spring training trip to Curacao, Mr. Morinelli had high hopes for a good season. Record wise, the season wasn't as fruitful as we hoped it would be. Even so, behind our lone pitcher, Captain Bruce Lundquist, the team showed how important spirit and team unity is in any sports activity. After suffering several demoralizing defeats at the end of the season, the team entered the last game with high hopes. The team played their best defensive game of the season even though we lost 9-4. Although we could not bring Mr. Morinelli a winning season in his last year at Proctor, on behalf of the team I wish Mr. Morinelli luck in the future. VARSITY TENNIS The Varsity Tennis squad achieved an excellent record of nine wins and only three losses during this season. For the second consecutive year, Chris Olson played number one, where his polished performance was beautiful to watch, but deadly to face. Number two was Dave Boyd, who had a fun season. Greg Beck- strom played third man. He had difliculty this year, but his last match was easily the best tennis he had played. Number four, Jon Mansfield, who had the best record of singles on the team. Number five man was Rob Rockwell. Mark Chis- holm played sixth man and Greg Wiener rounded out the squad, both aided the team substantially in close contests. The whole team thanks Mr. Burke for his many talents as a tennis coach, including strong nerves.
