CLASS OF1943 NEWTQN PERKINS ALLEN ' Newt Allen was born January 3, 1922, in Memphis, Tenn. He is thc son of james Seddon Allen, University of Tennessee '08, and Sarah Elizabeth Perkins. His father is an attorney, senior partner in the Firm of Armstrong, McCadden, Allen, Braden and Goodman. He has three brothers. He prepared at Central High School fMemphisj, where he was active in Public Speaking, aH:iliated with Boy Scouts, and the High School fraternity. At Princeton he majored in the School of Public and International Affairs. Graduated with High Honors. His father is a physiciang president Farmers 51 Merchants National Bank, of Winchester, president of Virginia Glass and Sand Corporation. He has two brothers. Among his relatives who attended Princeton were his great-great grandfather, David Hume Allen, 1802, his great-great uncle, William Temple Allen, 1838, and his cousins, Henry Howard Allen Morris ,21, M. Tyson Gilpin ,42, and Kenneth N. Gilpin '44. He prepared at Episcopal High School CAlexandria, Vaj, where he was on the Varsity Baseball Team, a Monitor, and on the Track Team. At Princeton he majored in Architecture, Second Group Departmental Honors. He was on the Freshman Baseball Teamg Art Editor of the Nassau Sovereign C35 g member Tower Club. During Freshman year he roomed at 44 Wiggins St.g Sophomore year at 331 slolineg Junior year at 512 Laughlin with Paul W. His father is manager of the district branch of the S. S. White Dental Manufacturing Company, of Boston, Mass. He has two brothers d ' l an two sisters.
