He has also lived in West Englewood, N.J. He is the son of Frederic Andreas and Mabel Alice Moore. His father is vice-president of the North River Coal and Wharf Com- pany. He has no brothers or sisters. He prepared at Lawrenceville School, where he was on the Lit Board (’29), Photographic Editor (’30), Business Manager (731) ; Olla Podrida Board (’29 and ’30), Photographic Editor (731); Program Committee ; Publications Committee; Parlons Frangais; sciénce Club. ? At Princeton he majored in Chemical Engineering. He was Associate Editor of the Dazly Princetonian (1) (2); member Students’ Photo Service:(1) (2) (2), Manager (4)s5-Arbor Inn. During Freshman year he roomed with Frederick A. Fetherolf at 84 Holder; Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years at 84 Holder with Henry Mayer, Jr. Andreas plans to study Chemical Engineering at the Massa- chusetts Institute of Technology. His father is pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, in Denver, Colo. He has two brothers and one sister. At Princeton he majored in Biology (Second Group Honors), and won a War Memorial prize. He was on the Lacrosse Team, numerals; member Triangle Club; Band ; Campus Club, Manager. During Freshman year he roomed at 30 South Edwards ; Sopho- more year in Brown; Junior year at the Campus Club with J. S. McCulloch and J. S. He has also lived in Asbury Park, N.J., Virginia Beach, Va., and Mount Vernon, N.Y. He is the son of Mrs. Margaret Sloan McLaughlin and stepson of John D. McLaughlin. His step-father is a wholesale and retail coffee merchant, owner of the Royal Crest Coffee Company, Inc. He prepared at Mt. Vernon High School, where he was on the Football, Swimming, Basketball, and 100-pound Football Teams, and University Scholarship winner (three years). At Princeton he majored in Chemical Engineering, and held a University Scholarship for three years. He was on the Freshman Football and Swim- ming Teams; 150-pound Football Team; Basketball Team. During Freshman and Sophomore years he roomed at 3-A Holder, with J. R. Withington ; Junior and Senior years at 312 Pyne. Appel plans to continue his studies in Chemical Engineering at Princeton, and to become a chemical engineer, possibly affiliated with the Standard Oil Company. He is a Protestant and a Republican.
