fb cancfp PROFESSOR MOREY -alia PROFESSOR Mouciw XfVith the start of the first full year of acceleration in june, all departments were faced with the problem of continuing to instruct undergraduates in their chosen fields plus taking respon- sibility for any emergency courses deemed necessary by the government for the prosecution of the war. First term courses were made available in both the Summer and Fall Terms, while second term work could be taken in either the Fall or Spring. Wliile more and more students included technical courses in their plans of study, Princeton as a liberal arts college. Seven humanistic studies, while two, sented the social sciences. The Department of Art and continued its 200-year tradition departments dealt directly with Politics and Economics, repre- Archaelogoy offered courses in all phases of ancient and modern art. The sections of music and architecture, represented by Professors Welch and Morgan respectively, still attracted students while the survey courses in sculpture and painting attracted enrollment from students in other departments.
