Winn Running somewhat more swiftly between dredged out banks, the Fox hastens on to a larger and larger usefulness. So the sophomores have hastened on through the year to the larger sphere of usefulness as juniors. Thirty-three sophomores are still struggling to keep afloat in the swift stream of Princeton High School. Algebra has overturned many of them, but coming to their rescue is their will to get ashore. Biology has given them a slight glimpse of life. Agriculture and hcmemaking are preparing them for the longer voyage ahead, while English is the buoy to help them keep the channel. So the sophomores, with all their activities, try to keep afloat in the fast and bewildering stream of high school life. The teachers have been a great help, and we shall never be able to repay them fully.

Miss Bullock One of the great curves and onward sweeps of the Fox brings it out into a broad, peaceful valley near Princeton. With such a grand sweep has the jun- ior class prepared itself for the calm broader expanse of senior life. About halfway upstream we encountered a class ring salesman. Several weeks later our lingers were adorned with the emblem of the School on the Historic Fox. More than half of the juniors took part in the local declamatory contest. We were also represented in various other extra-curricular activities. 10

From springs in an out-of-the-way marshy spot, a few miles from Princeton, flow tiny streamlets which unite in an ever growing volume to form the northern Fox river of Wisconsin. As this broad fair river has its begin- ning in these tiny rivulets, so the future class of 1945 has had its beginning in the freshman class, which, coming from parochial, rural, grade. and other city schools, has united in a single broadening group of students eager for the depths and shallows of the sophomore year. Thirty-four freshmen became tributary to the school on Septcmber sec- ond. After going with the current for several weel't under the direction of oth- ers, they decided to have their own officirs. They elected the following: Earl Schneeberger, president: Doris Ahrens, vic president: Doris Berger, secre- taryg Juanita Gongorek, treasurer: Loretta Hoppa, cheer leaderg Miss Schultz. advisor. After that, the students struck the rapids of initiation, but pulled thru safely. Eugene Winiecki left. and Virginia Engel was transferred to another school. The class is represented as follows: sfven girls in the Girls' Athletic As- sociation, ten in Future Homemakers of America. eleven boys in Future Farm- ers of America: four boys in basketball, There are nine freshmen in the band. and seven entered the speech contest.
