EUCLID AVENUE PRINCETON ILLINOIS 61356 HOMECOMING 1986 The 1986 Homecoming celebration was organized and sponsored by the Student Council. We started the week with a Hawaiian dress up day. jeff Donarski and Jana Larkin were judged to be the most Hawaiian. Wednesday was dress up day with winners Sara Rowe and Mark Hoffman. Rich Robinson and Margot Laine were crowned king and queen at an all school assembly in the morning. Nerds roamed the halls on Thursday. Leslie Rosene and Pat Cater won the competition as best nerds. Blue and White Day, the parade, the pep rally, and the game were the highlights on Friday. Dress winners were Randy Allen and Traci Van Waes. Following the parade, a pep rally was held at the town square where the cheerleaders led the crowd in cheers, Mr. Gaumer said a few words, and the pep band ended the rally by playing the Tiger fight song. That night the Tigers won the Homecoming game against the Kewanee Boilermakers. Saturday night the band Deception played for the Homecoming dance. Theme of the dance was All of My Love. Decorations were done in metallic silver and purple. Dressed for the occasion, Mr. Lavorato and Mr. Bassetti emcee the Homecom- ing Coronation. King Rich Robinson and Queen Margot Laine Providing entertainment at Coronation are the Villagers. Clockwise from the center - Susan Mead, Theresa Schneider, Maria Blohm, Betty Fordham, An- nette Stanfield, Erika Wagner, Erin O'Brien, Shelby Dow, Sarah Barlow, and Heather Stropes. 26'34' i Q--1 A ,, MttW,tW,, t P s t,,,,W Nl mf-:T'7? gf vw V Ulu' 5 Wr Al. gentot attendants Mike Jensen and Tami Kingston Senior attendants Matt Bretzlaff and Jacqui Pattelli .-f ',-.V . Finishing fouteenth in the Class A State track meet and fifth in the NCIC varsity competition were two of the team high-lights for this year. However the important finishes were individual performances this year. This season marked the end of the brilliant career of Angie Noble. She finished second in the state meet in the 800 meter run. In previous years she had Hnished 4th and 5th in the 400 meters. She had also been a part of several relays to compete and place at state including the 1600 meter relay which Hnished 4th. Other members of the team included Kate Howard, Lara Licko and Kelly Bosworth, which ran the relay in a time of 4:09.6. Kelly Bosworth and Angie Noble won medals at the state for the past three years and Hnished 2nd in the 3200 meter relay last year along with Sue josephson and jennifer Khoshbin to establish a new school record in that event at 9:39.6. Angie Noble set individual school records in the 200, 400, 800, and discus along with relay records in the 1600m, 800m medley, and discus relay. She earned seven state IHSA medals in three years of competing in Class A and was named MVP three years in a row. The MVP in the Field events this year was Donalea Little who competed in the disc and shot and turned in the 4th best discus throw and the sth best shot put in the history of the school and Hnished 3rd in the Sectional in the disc. Three other girls who competed in the state meet because of their winning the sectional 800 meter medley relay were Sherry Bill, jacqui Pattelli and Sarah VanDrew. Along with Angie Noble they turned in the second fastest medley in PHS history in a time of 1:52.8. Lara Licko, a freshman, tied the 300 m Low Hurdle mark of 53.7 held by junior Sue josephson, Lara competed in ten other events this year. jenny Faber Hnished 18th in the state meet in a personal best 12:08.2 in her freshmen year. 83 ADMINISTRATION A 2 :' , , T I fi, I ' ' X . i L S 3 AND FACULTY 7 3 g Q X X f S Q WMP Q- Q - Q 86 Board of Education: Kent Thompson, Max Castne Barbara Mueller, Margaret Autrey, Carl Ellberg Board Of Education And Administrators Keep Things Under Control af -3 Superintendent, Carl Cherrie Principal, Steve Matthews Administrative Assistant, Walt Windt Seeretaries, Custodians, - 1 fe e 'if . 5 K K ,kil..,,. We've had our share of sad and troublesome times too, but looking back it seems the good times outweigh the bad by far. At the end of our eighth grade year, all we heard was Good luck in P.HS.! Either we were pretty lucky or we didn 't need much luck, because everything turned out great! We were all pretty nervous about going to the 'big P.I-LS.' The way everyone talked it was impossible to make it down the hall without getting lost. After only a day or two it didn 't seem so big after all. The kids were another thing we weren't too sure about. We didn't know how they would treat us. But they treated us like ev- eryone else-with a few exceptions. We also made a lot of new friends. We didn't do a lot of big or important things as freshmen, but all the little things we did, though they didn 't seem so impor- tant at the time, were a lot of fun and left us with a lot of memories. We just had fun! We felt like we could be ourselves for once. We just did what we wanted to do and didn't have to worry what others thought. - from a Freshman 's journal Freshmen 'twins' show off their matching shirts. Troy Galetti welcomes you to a new year at P.H.5. Only Two More Years Sophomore year for us holds many memories, and we are starting to Hgure out who we really are. We've made it halfway through P.I-LS. and it's been a long haul. It's hard to believe that in two years we will be hearing Pomp and Circumstance and closing the doors to RHS. There have been lots of hard times-getting into a class late, forgetting books, sleeping in class the day after a concert, worrying about making the grade, and trying to Hnd a place to Ht in. We've also shared happy times-getting a driver's license, being with friends, taking pride in what we've given to P.l-LS. so far. The next two years are going to fly as fast as the first two. The time we share here is very special. Thank-you P.H5. for the memories. There are many more to come. This year marked the opening of the science wing. Science classes and most math classes met in spacious new surroundings. Freshmen and upperclassmen alike had to learn their way around the new addition. To add to the confusion, rooms in all the buildings were assigned new room numbers. It didn 't take long for everyone to learn his way around and Ht into the routine of the '86-'87 school year. 156 l .1 A Closing Look At P.l-LS. r 'v 'I' 'TSETTT The yearbook staff extends special thanks to the following people - Board of Education Mr. Cherrie, Mr. Matthews, Mr. Windt Bill Lamb Faculty Secretaries Custodians Memories by Donn Iostens.
