We gained a new stadium and sports complex, thanks to the generosity of Mr. H. P. Hunnicutt and other Tiger supporters. Because of student exchange pro- grams, we gained a new friend Jonathan Curry from England. We sadly said good-bye to Mr. David McLaughlin, our Assistant Principal, who left our school and the field of educat ion to pursue another career. The year was filled with Homecoming celebrations, parties, dances, club trips, holidays, and sports events. Our tennis team went upstate and all of our girls sports teams played exceptionally well. With this yearbook the Tiger Staff presents a glimpse of student life. We hope we captured the very best memories. 3 TIGERS BY DAY The students at PHS have very active, fun-filled lives. We study, eat, gossip, and just enjoy being around each other. As in any school, our personalities and ambitions vary greatly, but we are all basically alike; we are all Princeton Tigers and share Tiger pride. TIGERS BY NIGHT The students at PSHS are busy during the day, but they are just as busy at night. Many of them work at restaurants, grocery stores, department stores in the mall, and various other places. Then there are the weekends!! Friday and Saturday nights — those are the two days everyone lives for! Weekends usually consist of going to the mall and hanging out, going to Hardees and eating, or finding a party someone is throwing and socializing for awhile. Princeton may not be the most exciting town, but we all just have fun being together. Fashion always changes down through the years. It’s something that is expect- ed — clothes, shoes, and even hairstyles seem to reflect a specific mood and image. For the year 1987-1988, the image seemed to reflect an “anything goes” attitude. A YEAR IN FASHION ’87-88 The pictures on these pages depict the fashions for Princeton Senior High School. The four pictures represent four different categories. At the top left, the styles reveal the dressy look, which this year seem to consist of lacey and sweater dresses for the girls and pastel colors for the guys. In the bottom left corner is the guys’ casual picture. These guys are showing us that jeans and leather jackets are the style. The top right corner characterizes best our “anything goes” theme. It expresses how greatly the looks vary. The bottom right hand corner shows us the girls’ casual picture, which consists mostly of dress pants and skirts ranging in color. The fashion of 1987-1988 is easy to keep up with because just about anything you wear is in style. 13 YOU WILL BE MISSED MR. McCLAUGHLIN! It’s difficult to say good-bye to a person who means so very much to our school. Mr. McLaughlin is not only our Assistant Principal but also our friend. He always takes the time to really talk to us, to let us know we’re important and that our emotional as well as educational needs are impor- tant to him. We remember the hugs he has for our special TMI buddies and the warm rapport he establishes with students, teachers, and parents. The standing ovation from the Senior Class leaves no doubt as to how much he means to each of us and to our school. Good luck to you, Mr. McLaughlin. We will miss you! Although the ’87 season was full of disrup- tions, they hung in there all the way. The team ended with a record of 6-4 wins and losses. The highlight of the 1987-88 football season was the final game of the season — Homecoming. The game against Logan marked the seniors first and last victory in the new Anne S. Hunnicutt Stadium. Although the girls were defeated by Bluefield and Peterstown earlier in the season, they were able to come back at the end with a victory over both. Because of a total team effort, the girls went on to victory and became the 1988 SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS. This year’s OUTSTANDING SOFTBALL AWARD went to Jenni Hannabach. She was a three year letter person; had a batting average of .318; and she played short stop, catcher, and pitcher — record of 5-1 — for this year’s team. Sophomore Kellie Hale was named the team’s OUTSTANDING UNDERCLASSMAN. Kellie was the starting pitcher and had a season record of 10-6. CONGRATULATIONS go out to the 1987-1988 team!
