First plastic heart (Barney Clark), 4. Attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II, 5. NFL strikes for 8 weeks. Keith Hurt in his sporty Mustang. 7 HOMECOMING ’82 Junior attendant Dawn Buck and her escort Jim Barton, Senior attendant Charlene McCormick and her escort Charlie Spade, King Scott Davidson, Queen Cathy Poral, Maid of Honor Kim Hawkins and her escort Mike Burkett. Attendant at Large Gina Washington and her escort Kent Strain, Sophomore attendant Paula Wyatt and her escort Parker Hall. King and Queen — Scott Davidson and Cathy Poral — enjoy half-time activi- ties. Jim Barton proudly escorts Junior attendant Dawn Buck onto the field. Homecoming 1982 was the first Homecoming in the new PSHS. It was a beautiful and exciting time for all. SENIOR FLOAT WON 1st PLACE The Senior float came in 1st place with the theme of “Send Mann to Hillbilly Heaven.” Second place, the Juniors with their theme of “Tigers are Mann Killers.” Third place went to the Sophomores with their theme of “Mann-eating Tigers. 9 CONGRATULATIONS TO SCOTT DAVIDSON AND CATHY PORAL - HOMECOMING KING AND QUEEN The Varsity Cheerleaders’ candidates Randy Peck and Cookie Fernandez seem to have enjoyed the coronation. The Madrigals performed at the Homecoming coronation. Senior attendant Charlene McCormick, escorted by Charlie Spade; Cathy Poral, Queen; Scott Davidson, King; and Maid of Honor Kim Hawkins, escorted by Mike Burkett. David Hedge and Gwen Massini were the Annual Staff’s candidates for Home- Keith Radford and Kris Southern represented Thespians and Friends, coming. HOMECOMING ’82 WAS ENJOYED BY ALL Is Torie Huntington freezing to death on the Homecoming float? Lani Sultan and Tim Brown represent the Pom Pon squad in the Homecoming activities. Among many others, the Bible Club car is decorated beautifully for the parade. 11 STUDENT COUNCIL GIVES SPECIAL-ED A CHRISTMAS PARTY Hal Kirby enjoys a break from all his school work. Mike Reed and Ben Hall . .. busy at work. Santa (Mr. McLaughlin) gives presents to the TMR'S, aided by Sara Roe and Monica Gcrgcly. Kim Wright. John Francisco, and other kids enjoyed the Halloween party given to them by the Student Council. The Special Education Program at PSHS is a very special part of our school. These kids do take place in regular classes and proudly participate in all pep-rallies and special programs. These seniors are active in help- ing with the special ed: Cathy Poral, Tonya Mustard. These students munch out” at lunch. TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ENJOY PSHS DRESS UP DAY Is this Old McDonald or is it Mrs. Stanley? Coach Blackstone apparently just stepped out of a phone booth. Students at PSHS enjoy participating in dress up day. On Tuesday, October 5, 1983, students and teachers participated in PSHS dress up day. This is just one of the many ways they show that school spirit really does exist here at PSHS. Does Mrs. Rector teach French or Hawaiian language? Peggy Duncan .. . just clowning around. PARENTS TAKE A TURN AT SCHOOL Beth French's father seems to like coming to school for her! Is Angie Faulkner's mother, Sandra Douglas, a little jealous of Angie's artistic ability? Tammy Tilley’s mom seems to be telling the teacher that she has no idea how to do Geometry. On Friday, November 19,1982, PSHS gave the parents of students a chance to come and see what school is like for their kids. It was a good idea and may become a tradition here. We’re glad to know that so many parents participated. Par- ents — did you find out that school is as hard as it sounds?
