fra' ,221 LEFT Fred Coffman Council President confers with Miss Wright and Mr Borger Advisers TOP Officers of the student govemmg body take their iobs seriously BOTTOM Representatives listen attenhvely to discussions from the floor 60.0 Hai Um jmzfh gmfo :Self H1111 STUDENT COUNCIL Our Student Council under the leader ship of Fred Coffman began functioning the first day of school and by November was looking forward to a year of accom plishment With Miss leanne Wright and Mr Richard Borger Advisers The Council which is the legislative body of the school is composed of repre sentatives from homerooms and maior acti vities of the school and acts as an interme- diary power between the student body and the faculty. Since 1924 when it was first be- gun it has Won considerable esteem in the school lt controls all extra curricular activi ties such as parties clubs the Students Ex change and the student activities budget Among other activities this year the group arranged three dances were respon sible for installing the coke machine plan ned the assembly programs and sent dele gates to the State Council Convention Assisting Fred with his, ie were Charles Anderson Vice President Mildred McCoo1 Recording Secretary Audrey Shar etts Corresponding Secretary' and Doris Bahrenburg Treasurer. C A STUDENT COURT The Student Court the judicial branch of the student government functioned this year under Chief lustice Lynn Corson and Chief Prosecutor Walter Stryker. Under the direction of Mr. Orville Spessard, the court has handled all cases that were brought to its attention. Among them were the unlaw- ful use of activities tickets, misbehavior in assembly, disorderly conduct, and breakina into lockers. Student Court in session with the judges tup- per leftj hearing the Clerk of the Court read the charges against a student offender.

jim 519:14 About eighty girls responded to Miss Guests call for hockey players at the end of September. We practiced several days each week and competed in class competi- tion Wednesdays. The Sophs were the unde- feated victors in these games. ln our first inter-scholastic games, played at Miss l:'ine's, the Varsity lost, 4-2, while the Iunior Varsity Won, 2 - l. November 2 We were guests at the Hightstown play day. Fighting hard, we UM 601111 a Eanq! beat Iamesburg, 3 - O, and tied with Hights- town, l - l. November 18 four class teams travelled to Hamilton. The Freshmen and Senior games ended, O-O, and, l -1, respectively. The Iuniors overcame their opponents, 2 - UQ the Sophs were defeated, 2 - l, We were hosts to Hamilton, November 23.
