I WANT TO BE Oh, 'tis human to thirst for more, To ask why, where, and how. Teach me more, I've got to know, For I'll be leaving you now. My body strains, my endurance tested, For I know I've got to achieve. Through sweat and tears, win or lose, The experience too great to believe. But, though I ache and hurt all over, A smile and greeting I give you. For I've learned theiimportance of caring enough To give of myself to you. I'll read and study 'til the letters squirm And my head explodes in confusion. But, waiting for me, at the end of the tunnel, Is my reward, not an illusion. Then, I'll take the time to learn From what others have to give. We'll free our minds and souls, together, We're just beginning to live. My comrades and I have grown together And learned of love through the years. I'll always remember all you've taught me, And your smile that dried my tears. ' I'll leave you now to follow your dreams, For I must go my way, too. We'll meet, again, in that time beyond, And maybe still learn something new.
