I ...... SEC RE FRO FLIGHT UARTER KNOTTY PROBLEMS of ship's policies and parties are discussed in the crew's library by the Welfare and Recreation Committee. LTHOUGH the working day often runs into twenty hours, there are times when the crew can relax and pursue the pleasures of their own choosing. Everyone catches an occasional movie on the mess deck or in the VVardroom. The library, with its hundreds of books and rela- tively recent periodicals, is frequented by many. There are band concerts during replenishment operations in addition to the music supplied by the disk jockey programs over the ship's loudspeakers. A hobby shop keeps many creative hands occupied during the leisure hours. Correspondence courses and other educational media are available to those who seek to increase their background in learning. AMPLE OPPGRTUNITY is afforded the men to experiment with their beards dur- ing the extended tours on the line. DROPPING HYPO for harmonica, two photographers team up to turn the photo lab into an after-hours jam session.
