u W . 1 V. fine f' liP ' The Japanese people. . .among the most important and most valuable assets of this country, her people are the memories that will be most vivid in the minds of Princeton men. Where to start in describing? The children with the ever present smile that all ancient fairy tales of this oriental country make possible. Often dressed in the traditional kimonos and obis, they can be seen roaming the streets in quest of laughter that seems to be a by-word with them. The elders who stand by as they watch the Japan of old take on its new and different appearance, not only in the geographic, but also in the educational and political points ol view. And the young folk ol Ai' today, the men and women who 451'51'i,fQE are guiding their country, in what may very well be called her most important period. Witli the in- telligent approaches to all the pro- blems of twentieth century living, and the stoic traditions and wis- dom of a country as old as time, the Japanese people stand ready to retain the importance for which they were previously known. The greatest wealth of Japan, her people were both loved and res- pected by the men of the Princeton. 55 Swat 549.11 3 funny how you're always running into old friends l 'H- if ,hx , , fa ks 4, f fs 5 'W 1, travel in foreign lands can be an enriching experience N X 'ff ' tx 5Ys W . f -N sc, . . . the ancient hills seem to fall away in the background as Mt. What transforms 3,000 men and 27,000 tons of steel into a mighty weapon of war? Be it launching aircraft or holding field day, the men of the Princeton have held all her sister ships in the fleet spellbound. When breaking records for ammo loading or knock- ing down sleeves in gunnery practice, the Princeton has established herself as a power to be respected and reckoned with through- out the fleet. With modern equipment main- tained by a battery of expert techinicians, the crew continued to work out the long months in a never failing method of first rating in all the undertakings to which the Sweet P was assigned. sw fix wer f f. f sf gfiiwfilfifwiwg XWSZX Wwx wi 1 1, 'Q .A ,A ,W if 1 f Z gy! 57 4 If ,I f X W f SKK R 7? as Qsfwyii WKQKEQ E fl 1 Ev A !X NWX! The Princeton is built like any other carrier in the fleet, but the spirit of this ship and the ioint cooperation between the ship's crew and the Air Group is what makes this weapon unique. So closely have the men of Air Group 19 and the Princeton worked, that they have not only been thought of as one, but in their own minds, they are one. A team that works and fights as hard as anything on earth, their loyalty to each other has been matched only by their output...
