To each and every sailor, it means the fulfillment of the dream i he's kept to himself for 71f2 long months. 1 As the Sweet pulls closer to the dock, strain- Q ing eyes seek loved ones on the Pier. The f- waiting throng seems to send up the cry as k one, Welcome home, Sailor ! the gangway is k down, and the first sailor is on the dock, then f a second, a third. From then it's a steady stream of running, wildly happy men. If 1 you look closely you can see an anxious wife ' seeking out her husband, a name called, a turn, and that wide eyed look, as they sight W each other. When they are together and the if laughter and tears are mingled, there isn't A much more to be said. See that man on -x gr l watch waving wildly to his wife as she holds his son high for him to see? He's never seen that son before . . . But there are other men that will have to wait a few weeks and thousands of miles to see their loved ones. Yes, All Ashore USA means many things to many people, but to all it means we're home. Wlien Captain Paul D. Stroop relinquished his command to Captain William R. Hollingsworth, the men of the Princeton knew with a feeling of loss, that only men of the sea can know, that a good friend and well loved skipper was leaving. But in losing, the Princeton also gained from the background and experience of so well known and highly respected an oflicer as Captain Hollingsworth. To Navy men, the term Skipper is reserved for Captains who have earned the loyalty and respect of their men. In the days and weeks to follow, the proof of such a reputation was deeply instilled in the minds of all hands, as Princeton men could agai EXPRESSING HIGH PRAISE for the ship and her crew, Captain Hollingsworth reads his BuPers orders and ofli- cially takes comamnd. n be heard to say, 'WVelcome aboard, Skipper.
