.ya y Z 1. Three dental oflicers, one to approxima- tely 1000 men, seems like a rather equit- able ratio at first glanceg it is if one confines him- self to counting noses. However, the picture changes as an inventory is taken of the teeth that go with these 3000 noses. Every man is entitled to 32 teeth. Age, neglect, and perhaps a few violent liberties account for a deviation from this allowance on the minus side. But the fact remains that with every man up to complement dental wise, each dental officer aboard has in the neighborhood of 32,000 teeth staring him in the face. ' Aicling in this never ending struggle against time and numbers are four highly trained dental technicians, each a specialist in his field, and three strikers fcandidates for dental specialty coursesj. Your teeth are the responsibility of these ten men of D Division. When the men of the Princeton have a chance to relax or exercise their tired muscles, a new atmos- phere develops. ln the warm sunny weather off the Korean coast, or tied to a pier in San Diego, Bremerton, or Yokosuka, you can see the bronzed bodies sunning on the flight deck, a basketball or volleyball game on the hangar deck, and sense a feeling of relaxation and enjoyment throughout the ship. Many sailors hit the rack to sleep, dream, or just contemplate the day's doings. A quietness settles over the Sweet P. Always welcome, Holiday Routine gives everyone a chance to collect their thoughts and rest up for the grueling operational days ahead. The following pages depict scenes that are typical of the easy living found aboard any ship of the fleet when Holiday Routine is in effect. QIQ
