This group is charged with the servicing of all air- craft with aviation gasoline, lubricating oil and alcohol. Included in the duties of V-7 Division are the maintenance and operation of all associated equipment, systems, and the spaces assigned. This mission of V-7 Division is to contri- bute to high operational combat readiness by delivering the most rapid and efficient servic- ing of aircraft possible, which is consistent with the strict observance of safety precau- tions and security of the ship and her person- nel. For this purpose a gasoline security l Watch is maintained at all times. The men of the division work many long hours to handle approximately 4,000,000 gallons of gasoline and 16,000 gallons of lube oil during a cruise. It is this branch of the Air Department that is faced with fueling the great number of aircraft that fly from the Sweet P in near-record time. Working with the OOD and the navigator, the quartermaster is their right hand man. Expert helmsman, correct time keeper for the ship, consultant on the Rules of the Road, the quartermaster is at home on the bridge and acts capably there in many capacities. When does the sun rise?-The quartermaster has they answer, A Will the moon be full to- night for Flying?-N Division tells you.
