The success of ATA- keeping plane and personnel records upto date is a never ending task RCN 195 can be attri- buted not only to the efforts of the group of outstanding pilots, but also to the fine Chief Petty Officers and en- listed men of the squad- ron. They all worked day and night to meet the schedule and to serve the bomb hungry AD's. W crash landings were few but wipe downs were frequent comvo Hr QUADRO Detachment EASY of Composite Squadron THREE QVC-35 was stationed at Moffett Field, California, and was attached to the USS PRINCETON and Air Group NINETEEN via temporary duty orders to Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED NINETY TWO. Although they were in this TAD status the men of VC-3 came to love the Sweet P, the same as any man in the ship's company, and with this feeling did much to help the old girl out. VC-3's primary duty was night fighting and all weather interception and destruction of enemy aircraft should it approach the fleet. It had as its offensive mission night harassment and in- truder work and it was this phase that was mostly seen aboard the Princeton. 1 ' The team flew some one hundred and twenty five night and pre-dawn heckler missions with its four F4U-5N type aircraft. These planes were staffed by five pilots, two chief petty officers, and thirty four enlisted men.
