Each staff member was a peer editor. 114 The purpose of the Literary Club is to publish a magazine composed of students ' writings. Throughout the year they sponsored writing contests. They also accepted individually submitted articles. The members went over each entry and evaluated it for possible publication. The best of a variety of writings were published in the school magazine The Panther Tales.

Young, ). Domingo, ). Pa rina, C. Crouse. Panthers of the Month were recognized at the NJHS Induction. The National Junior Honor Society is ar; honorary society which promotes enthusiasm for scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Membership in the NJHS provices an opportunity to positively influence the lives of other students, staff, and school members. Annual projects include selecting the Panthers of the Month, providing a tutoring program during lunch, babysitting for elementary schools on special PTA nights, sponsoring Awards day, preparing and distributing congratulatory letters to all honor roll students, and preparing the principal ' s list for the bulletin board. They also helped guidance with Career Day, worked concessions at dances and other after school activities, and participated in the Sand Castle Classic. NJHS members must hold a 3.7 or above average and be involved in extra-curricular activities to be eligible for election. After being tapped Grace was escorted to the of the cafetorium.
