French, Spanish Clubs Revitalized, Eat Snails, Tacos A new addition to the list of clubs this past year was the Spanish Club. The members of the club sampled tacos. Also, a trip to El Cid, a new Spanish restaurant, where the students sampled a variety of Spanish dishes was enjoyed by all. The French Club, also call- ed Le Cercle Francais , was brought back to life by Ms. Anderson, the French teacher. Under her direction, the club learned to appreciate French life and French artwork. Le Cercle Francais , received a special treat when they dined on snails and French bread. The club also had a cheese tasting party where they sampled different French cheeses. New Editor rings Paper More Acclaim Bowing to the energy crisis and the paper shortage, THE ROYAL PAGE changed its plans and re- verted back to four from an origi- nally planned six issues. Editor Taft Kiser brought several major changes to the second year of public- ation. The first major change was meaty editorials which struck out at students and adminis- tration and caused comment by both. In addition, more news articles appeared with regularly appearing feature articles. Book reviews, a music column, and a club section complimented the news and Ted Vanko's sports section. Eighth graders Carl Rudzin and John Meanor joined the staff as regular student photographers. With a fluctuating, changing student body, the newspaper staff seemed to be more constant in 1973- 74. An air of permanence abounded in the newspaper office as each issue was sent to press. Circulation when up as the students asked When,s the next issue? BELOW, ROW l, LEFT TO RIGHT: S. Booker, T.
