Yearbook Combines Sections, Wins VHSL Award The yearbook staff came to the conclusion that there were overall trends seemingly affecting the entire year. Problems included a gap with the young, an overcrowded school and a somewhat prevailing apathy among students. Pockets of liber- alism and concern, however, were discovered by the staff when in- vestigating student participation in Thanksgiving Baskets for the County, and support of the Basket- ball game to raise money for cancer. The staff worked hard on a new format to make the Gold Medal- lionf' more diversified and inter- esting to its readership nurtured on Soul Music, mod design and tele- vision. Four main sections, including a stronger closing, replaced the usual three, Winning First Place in the Vir- ginia High School League com- petition last year left this year's staff with the problem: How do we top this?
