HOMECOMING Queen Judy, King Don The 1955 Homecoming Festivities began on Sept. 28 when the band led a parade of the student body around the square. After the parade a giant pep rally was held around the bonfire. On Friday afternoon the band led the floats in a parade around the square stopping at each interesection where the student body, band and townspeople participated in pep music and talks. The crowning of the King and Queen took place at the football field during half-time. The band formed a huge crown in which Bob Byers, President of the Jr. Class, crowned Don Greenlee, King of Homecoming. The King in turn crowned Judy Schultz, Queen. The Queen's attendants were Lennie Smith, junior, Kay Sturdevant, sophomore, and Mary Seivert, freshman. The floats were also displayed and judged at half-time. The sopho- more's float was announced as winner of first place, with the freshman float taking second. The senior float carried the Queen and her atten- dants. The Homecoming dance was held in the gymnasium im ediately after the game. The Juniors decorated the gym beautifully with a large football hanging from the center of the ceiling. At the side and ends hung red and white streamers. Everybody enjoyed dancing to the smooth music of Tommy Thomas. 60
